SPONSORED EVENTS More and more people are raising money for good causes and what could be more fun and exciting than to take part in a sponsored canoe event, whether it's a one of occasion enjoying a trip down the River Mersey Canoe Trail (16miles), a 2 day 40 mile journey down the unlocked Bridgewater Canal or even further afield. We can offer some reduced rates to support your efforts and training before had if needed. Over the past 2 years we have become involved in the Mersey Memory Tour, raising money for The Alzheimers Society. We have had several groups raising money for their own charitable causes. Recently workers from Barclays Bank IT centre in Knutsford set themselves the challenge of completing the Caledonian Canal across the width of Scotland. We were able to provide all their training for this endurance task including a weekend in the Lakes to teach them all the safety skills they may need.......and boy did they need them....40 - 50mph winds and a huge swell on Loch Ness was taken in their stride as unaccompanied from any coaches they used all their newly learned skills to keep their group of 16 safe and most importantly for them allowed them to complete their challenge. Flixton Cricket and Social Club brought 33 for a paddle down to Sale, mainly a complete set of novices but up for the challenge completed the challenge under our watchful eye. Fancy the whole River Mersey to Liverpool from its formation in Stockport...we are currently looking into the possibilities of putting an event together. This would be 3 days and invove 2 days of camping, the last day paddling the estuary section to Liverpool waterfront. |
